Let's Get Primitive!
This Cd was begun in Iowa City.  I carried the ADAT tapes back to Istanbul with me and the tuba player flew in from Saudi Arabia.  We added banjo and Erkan Ogur's incomparable ebow fretless guitar and some spoons and harmonica.  I then took the tapes to Japan and then back to Istanbul and finally to Iowa City for mixing, mastering and
production.  A real 'round the world' adventure.

Let's Get Primitive  copyright 1999 Robert ‘One-Man’ Johnson
This world is moving at a hectic pace / ‘Bout to wipe that smile right off your face / You and me maybe ought to think things over / One of these days we’ll both be pushing up clover / Let’s simplify the way we live / Let's get primitive / Turn off that TV and the VCR / This technology has gone too far / Unplug the phone and the answer machine / Sit down beside me and let’s make the scene / Let’s simplify the way we live / Let's get primitive / Remote control that, remote control this / We just sit around and watch ourselves getting fat / Digital that, digital this / There's still no such thing as a digital kiss / Let’s simplify the way we live / Let's get primitive / Last night I had the strangest dream / No ‘lectricity and no machines / You and me stranded on a desert isle / Wearing nothing but a wink and a smile / That’s the way we ought to live / Let's get primitive / That scenario don’t seem too bad / Think of all the good times we once had  / I know you think I’m living in the past / But people crash and burn when they drive too fast / Let’s simplify the way we live / Let's get primitive

Dangers of Love  copyright 2000 Robert 'One-Man' Johnson
Just when you think you know what's on her mind / She changes direction and leaves your heart behind / That's a danger of love / Just when you think you know false love from true / Reality rears up and rips your heart in two / Another danger of love / They say it's better to have loved and lost Than not to love at all / But the guys who make those proverbs up  / Don't know how hard we fall / Just when you think your world has come to an end / You forget about your broken heart and fall in love again / That's the danger of love / It's a risky proposition,  / Is true love worth the price? / When kisses burn like fire  / But hearts are cold as ice / Just when you think you've healed your broken heart / Cupid shows up and shoots you with another dart / Another danger of love / Like riding on a carousel and  / Reaching for the ring / Up and down and round and round  / But you never learn a doggone thing / About the dangers of love / These are the dangers of love
